I WAS ROBERT MITCHUM

Complete short film

A love poem to the cinema.

Filmed in the ornate State Theatre in Sydney, Australia, I was Robert Mitchum is a lyrical exploration of the story of a man who lost his sight, but who can still 'see' through his connection to cinema.

The film was Slade's first production out of film school, funded by the New South Wales Film and Television Fund's Young Filmmakers Fund, and photographed on 35mm film.

It premiered at the Sydney Film Festival, in the location that it was filmed. The film was a short drama finalist in the ATOM Film Awards, and was screened in a short theatrical season before the Golden Globe and BAFTA nominated Danish feature Festen
